Title:  Sr. Manager - Syndicated Product

Location: Costa Mesa, CA

 

TheRole:  J.D. Power is looking for an experienced productinnovator to evolve and grow our syndicated research andbenchmarking products.  The ideal candidate will haveexperience with product portfolio and lifecycle management, product strategy,product development, product marketing and cross-functional collaboration. Thisposition is an individual contributor.

 

TheImpact: J.D.Power’s syndicated industry benchmarks provide clients with an independent,competitive view of the key indicators and drivers of the customer satisfactionbased on Voice of the Customer data in industries such as Automotive, FinancialServices and Utilities. Research results are based on unfiltered customerfeedback and show specifically what factors affect customer satisfaction andhow important these factors are in relation to each other. The benchmarks andactionable insights that J.D. Power provides help businesses improve customerengagement, increase customer satisfaction and drive growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define,lead and execute a product strategy and vision for the company’s globalsyndicated benchmark research portfolio

  • Incollaboration with the operations and Science teams, develop and execute astrategy to acquire broad and rich sources of data by engaging consumers intheir digital journey as they seek and share information and connect withbrands on-line. 

  • Developa thorough understanding of J.D. Power’s products, markets, competitors andclient/user needs to ensure our syndicated research remains relevant andaligned with industry trends. Recommend positioning and products to reach newcustomers.

  • Deliveragainst revenue achievement and margin goals for products over the course oftheir lifecycle.

  • Createand maintain product roadmaps, lead prioritization with stakeholders and manageproduct backlog.  Drive and governstandardization initiatives that improve product quality and operationalefficiency.

  • Collaboratewith industry P&L owners, sales, marketing, operations, and Science throughoutthe product life cycle.

  • Ensurethat product and marketing accurately reflects benefits and features from auser perspective and persona.

  • Interfacewith the sales and operations teams and with account managers to educate themon product, positioning, and value to customer.

Qualifications:

  • 12-15+years of professional experience, 7-10+ years of which are in product development,management or marketing roles

  • BA/BSrequired; understanding of advanced analytics as applied to business and an MBAare plusses

  • Abilityto work well cross-functionally, rapidly gain an understanding of insightstools, manage multiple projects with changing priorities, and initiate andcomplete projects with minimal guidance

  • Keenbusiness sense, with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutionsto customer problems

  • Strongresults orientation with proven success working in a fast-paced environment

  • Abilityto work independently while also being a strong collaborator

TheTeam / The Business:  This position will be part of a newly formedproduct organization that will be expanded throughout the year under a newchief digital officer. J.D. Power’s syndicated portfolio serves the foundationoff of which other products and services are launched.
