Reports To: VP Vehicle Valuations and Analytics

Location: McLean, VA

The Role:

JD Power vehicle valuations and analytics, formerly NADA Used CarGuide, develops and manages vehicle valuation products and related analytics.J.D. Power’s used vehicle values have been relied upon in the automotiveindustry since the early 1900s. We’ve supported the industry through waves ofgrowth and innovation and have established a brand based on accuracy,transparency and analytical prowess. In addition to our used value products wehave recently launched a residual value product to support the new vehicleindustry. This role will promote these core products that are based on thefoundation of our proprietary analytics and predictive modeling. All theseproducts are built on a unique foundation that leverages J.D. Power’s breadthof industry leading data ranging from PIN retail transaction data, AuctionNetwholesale data & voice of the customer data related to JD Power’s benchmarksurveys like IQS, VDS & APEAL.

This position will fulfill an integral role in the development andexecution of the business development plans to increase awareness for residualvalues and other analytical consulting capabilities. The Sr. Director willprovide solutions that leverage our proprietary predictive analytics withspecific emphasis on our residual value model which provides insight intodynamics of the automotive industry for both the new and used markets for allautomotive related topics. In addition, the Sr. Director will establish him/herself as an industry expert by sharing JD Power’s extensive market data andanalysis to facilitate dialogue and insure a regular frequency of meetings toultimately develop subscriptions to residual values and related analyticopportunities, but also to inform and develop meaningful client relationships.

This role will use your analytical, business, and client-facingcommunication skills, while leveraging your knowledge of the automotiveindustry. You will also be comfortable with pursuing new business developmentopportunities enabling your career growth within the vehicle valuation andanalytics team.

Essential Functions:        

  • Work with the VP, Sr. Dir. Market Intelligence and Senior Director, Analytics, to develop and execute residual and/or consulting strategies in order to increase company revenue.
  • Provide analytical and industry expertise in support of defined external clients to insure consistent and meaningful touchpoints with clients
  • Work closely with analytic and market intelligence teams to develop content that is aligned with customer expectations and identified needs
  • Put together consulting proposals based on client requests and identified opportunities
  • Manage all aspects of business relationships with selected OEMs
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of working schedule

Education and Work Experience:

  • 10+  years of experience with data, analytics, and statistics
  • Knowledge of and interest in the automotive industry highly preferred, experience with consumer products or with management consulting firms also preferred
  • BA/BS degree in Business related field: Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science etc. required [Masters / MBA highly desirable]
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective interdepartmental working relationships and team building
  • Must be a self starter
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphical communication skills. Must have strong presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate the meaning of analytical concepts, analyses and results
  • Ability to execute multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities while meeting required deadlines.
  • Flexibility under pressure & ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
