Title:  Practice Lead - Hospitality

Location:Chicago, Troy, WLV (remote location possible)

Reports to (title): Vice President – Services Industries


The Role:  J.D. Power has a long-standing hospitality practicesupporting hotels, tourism, and other related travel sectors.  You will have the responsibility of leadingthe Hospitality practice at J.D. Power. We are seekinga practice leader to develop and execute a dynamic strategy to quickly driveaggressive growth of the business.  Thiswill involve getting us deeply engaged with our existing hotel clients, andexpanding us further into related hospitality sectors (cruise lines, gaming,tourism, and destination travel).  Thepractice leader will work closely with our existing Travel practice whichmanages our work with airlines, airports, and rental car agencies.


The Impact: The practice lead will act as a thought leader for J.D.Power (client meetings, consulting projects, media interactions, internalpresentations). You will conduct on-site client presentations and manageconsultative services, as well as developing thought leadership pieces. Youwill work to address complex, client-driven issues and create class-leadingservices and deliverables to drive business results for our clients.



  • Interactstrategically with key industry stakeholders
  • Identifyand develop sales opportunities with the sales team
  • Givefeedback to the science and research teams to enhance quality of insights anddeliverables
  • Createand deliver thought leadership – publications, conferences, etc.
  • Ownthe practice financials (revenues/margins)
  • Deliveryof onsite client presentations
  • Workwith the product team to design and launch new products
  • Leadconsulting projects with clients
  • Travelrequired


  • Minimumof 7-10 years of hospitality industry experience
  • Bachelor’sDegree from a college or university, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Advancedhospitality industry knowledge and experience
  • Strategicbusiness development experience
  • Demonstratedexperience increasing revenue/sales to existing and new clients
  • Expertlevel communication and leadership skills
  • Strongconsulting background
  • Provenability to deliver presentations in front of Senior Executives both in the U.S.and Canada
  • Familiarity,participation, or membership in industry associations.
